# 30734: Brand Registration Failure: Sole Proprietor brands are not enabled

## Description

Sole Proprietor brand registration is not enabled for this account. Sole Proprietor registration is available only for eligible customers in the United States or Canada who do not have a business Tax ID and who use the supported onboarding flow.

### Possible causes

* This account is not enabled to create Sole Proprietor brands.
* The business is not eligible for Sole Proprietor registration. Sole Proprietor registration is limited to U.S. or Canadian sole proprietors without an EIN or Canadian Business Number. Businesses with a Tax ID must register as a Standard or Low-Volume Standard Brand instead.
* The wrong onboarding path is being used. Direct customers register Sole Proprietor brands in Console, while ISVs typically register Sole Proprietor brands for customers through the API flow.

### Possible solutions

* If you are a direct customer, create a Starter Profile and register the Sole Proprietor brand from Console under Messaging > Regulatory Compliance > Onboarding.
* If you are registering brands for customers as an ISV, use the Sole Proprietor API onboarding flow and verify that the registration information is complete before you submit the Brand.
* If the business has an EIN, a Canadian Business Number, or is located outside the United States or Canada, register it as a Standard or Low-Volume Standard Brand instead of a Sole Proprietor Brand.
* If this account should be able to register Sole Proprietor brands, contact Support for enablement help.
