error-21805 page anchor
PHONE NUMBERS
ERROR

This error occurs when your port order does not include the postal or ZIP code that matches the service address on file with your current carrier. To complete a port successfully, provide name and address details that match the Customer Service Record exactly. Address and ZIP code mismatches are a common reason port requests are rejected.

Possible causes

  • You left the postal or ZIP code out of the port request or out of the address details submitted for the number port. The PortIn API includes address.zip as part of the losing carrier address information.
  • The postal or ZIP code in your request does not exactly match the current carrier's Customer Service Record or billing address. Even minor differences can cause a rejection. (help.twilio.com(link takes you to an external page))
  • The service address used for the port order is incorrect or incomplete, so the address information does not match the current carrier's records. (help.twilio.com(link takes you to an external page))
  • Contact your current carrier and request the Customer Service Record. Confirm the service address and postal or ZIP code exactly as they appear on file before you resubmit the port order.
  • If you are using the Porting API, set losing_carrier_information.address.zip to the postal or ZIP code on file with the losing carrier. Make sure the rest of the address matches exactly as well.
  • Review the latest phone bill or other carrier records, update the LOA and port order details to match the authorized user name and service address on file, then resubmit the request. (help.twilio.com(link takes you to an external page))
